Every Monday at The Pack Horse Inn we come together to enjoy the best of local Northumbrian produce in the best of Northumbrian Pie.
Our chef’s try to keep you guessing with a range of pie’s that could be available from Venison, Steak & Ale, Shepherd’s Pie and Bouguignon. The meat we use in our pie’s comes from our very own herd of Dexter and Highland cattle, our neighbour’s Lamb from Coldrife Farm or Venison from our Friend’s in Chatton. During Game season you may be lucky enough to come across a Game Pie made with Game from Ellingham Estate Sporting Ltd.
Tuesday night is burger night. We started burger night back in March 2018 and as word spread of the best burgers the area has to offer the evening continues to be a roaring success. At £12.90 for a Burger and a Drink (Pints, House Wine, House Spirits & Soft Drinks) you can’t go wrong.
In keeping with our bid to use as much locally sourced produce as we can all of the meat used in our burgers is sourced within 10 miles of Ellingham. At The Pack Horse Inn we also pride ourselves on a range of delicious Vegetarian meals available, and always have a vegetarian burger on our Tuesday burger menu. A very popular choice for vegetarians and meat eaters alike is our Cajun Sweet Potato Burger topped with Goats Cheese – Bellissimo!

Our meat is locally sourced within 10 miles of the village; our Beef and Rare Breed Pork is reared by our very own Landlord Louis Fell and the Lamb by our neighbour Rob Fife at Coldrife Farm. We often have a Nut Roast available (also superb) but calling in advance to let us know you are coming will ensure the availability of this. In fact, calling to book on a Sunday is a very good idea and will help to avoid disappointment, Sunday’s are busy all year round!
